Can we vote him as a honorary jalop? Or have him as our mascot? The guy is awesome!

well, heres my parents.
my dad know about them and digs them, but doesnt really car and just wants to lead a well rounded life (granted, he has a A3 TDI [we liv ing canada] AND a motorcycle)
mom sees them as an appliance. she wasnt ok with a camry because it was too big, and wanted a yaris after her volvo S40 (2001) she eneded up with an IS 250. car already looks like shit, curb rashed wheels, scrated doors, bumpers, etc etc. And when I tell her to take the thing to be detailed and to get the scratches out she goes: why, its just a car...drives. me. insane.
OH and the IS is black, so EVERYTHING shows up on it. also, I tried to get them to buy a nicer set of aftermarket wheels for the lexus, and give it a meaner look from the side, instead of 16inch steelies for the winter (one set of wheels for summer, one for winter) instead of getting a nice 18inch set like i told them, they get a 17inch set with 50 series sidewalls....from (basicly) walmart.

Sounds like you are better off than me! If my dad knows about cars, he isn't showing or sharing it. My mom sees them as an appliance as well.

Maybe?
My mom traded her Kia Rondo for a Sorento, which is too new to screw up. My dad's car has been borrowed by my sister for school out of state, but it's been at my house for a good chunk of the summer. I bought a new wiper blade for it, because I finally figured out what the *screeching* noise was (hint: the rubber from the wiper blade was partially off, so it was metal versus window). There's water in the engine (or something), and I was suppose to take it in for them, but it's hard when my only free time is when the mechanic is closed. My dad's coming tonight (visiting for a few weeks), so he can finally take in it. Its nothing serious though, or at least I was told that, just poor mpg.
Its funny, my mom's dad (grandpa), is a gearhead. His family [still] owns a tow-truck company, he used to drag race, a car fanatic, and my mom isn't much of a car person. And from the sound of it, neither are her siblings, lol. He told me a story that he saw a guy drag race a motorcycle with either a v-10 or v-12, mounted sideways in it.

*sigh* Its his car, not mine. He told me it wasn't going to be an issue, and I'm like "yeah, ok". Its gonna be fixed this week, so that's good.

That was enjoyable to watch and I'm proud to say I didn't need subtitles. :)
Cool dude, exactly like I would picture a 70 year old petrolhead from the Balkans. Places German cars above all others, smokes in the car, keeps it clean as a whistle and gives no fucks. :D
